The State of Massachusetts requires that a notary public purchase his or her own official seal and register of official acts, or journal. You may elect to use either an embossing seal, the type that produces a raised impression on paper, or an ink stamp seal. The Massachusets notary stamp and the Massachusets embossing seal available from Notary Rotary meet all requirements for use by Massachusetts notaries public. Non-attorney notaries public are required to keep a journal. Legal staff including paralegals and secretaries who are providing notary service in the context of their employment are exempt from the journal-keeping requirement. Even though some Massachusets notaries are excempt from the journal requirement it is still a good idea to keep record of all notarial acts performed as this could help in determining what happened if a notarial act is ever called into question. If you are required to, or choose to, keep a record of your notarial acts Notary Rotary carries an exceptional Massachusetts notary journal.
