Become a Nevada notary public with Notary Rotary, Inc.
Qualifications:
To become a Nevada notary public you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of the state or be a resident of a bordering state employed in Nevada
- You must possess your civil rights (a felon cannot be a notary until they have their rights restored)
Step 1: Order your official $10,000 surety bond from Notary Rotary, Inc.
Each applicant for the office of notary public for the State of Nevada is required to purchase a 4-year $10,000 Nevada notary bond. Please visit the Notary Rotary online store to place an order by clicking on the following link: Nevada Notary Supplies. Choose Nevada from the drop down menu and enter the store to purchase your official surety bond. To order, enter the required information, scroll down through the page to locate and select the desired products, and follow the instructions through checkout. Your bond will usually be shipped the same day it is ordered and arrive in 2-3 days.
Step 2: File your bond and take the oath of office with the county clerk.
When you receive your $10,000 surety bond from Notary Rotary, Inc. you will need to take it to the office of the county clerk of court in the county in which you reside, or the county in which you are employed if an out of state applicant. The clerk will administer the oath, file your bond, and provide you with a "filing notice". There is a fee for the filing of the bond and this fee varies between counties. Make sure to call ahead and determine what the fee will be.
Step 3: Download and complete the Nevada notary public application

Download the application and complete it according to the instructions provided. When you have completed the application check it over for accuracy as any errors or omissions in the application can result in a delay in processing or an outright rejection of the application. When you are confident the application is complete and correct mail it, the "filing notice" you received from the clerk of court, and a check in the amount of $35.00 made payable to the Secretary of State to the following address:
NOTE: A nonresident applicant must also include the "Non-resident Notary Public Affidavit" and the "Affidavit of Applicant's Employer." If you are self-employed, you will need to complete the "Affidavit of Self-Employer Applicant."

Upon being satisfied of the competency and good character of applicants for appointment as notaries public, the Secretary of State shall issue a certificate of appointment that will be sent to the applicant's mailing address.
Step 4: Order the remainder of your supplies from Notary Rotary, Inc.
The state of Nevada requires all notaries public to purchase an official seal to authenticate their notarial acts as well as a journal or other record book to record all notarial acts performed.
