Become a South Carolina notary public with Notary Rotary, Inc.
Qualifications:
You must be a registered voter to become a Notary Public. If you do not know your Voter Registration number, call your County Voters Registration Office or County Registration and Election Commission for this information. The number will be listed under County Government in your local telephone book.
Term of Appointment:
A South Carolina notary public commission is valid for a period of ten (10) years, unless resigned or revoked sooner.

Download and complete the application according to the instructions provided. The application must be completed and signed by a commissioned notary public. Simply enter your ZIP code and search for a notary in your area to assist in completing the application.
Once you have completed the application you will need to mail it and a check or money order in the amount of $25.00, made payable to Mark Hammond Secretary of State, to the County Delegation Office for your home county. Your delegation office will forward the application to the Secretary of State's office. Upon receipt of a properly executed application the office of the Secretary of State will mail your commission within one week.
Step 2: Order your official seal and other supplies from Notary Rotary, Inc.
Each notary public for the State of South Carolina shall have a seal of office, or South Carolina notary stamp, which shall be affixed to his instruments of publications and to his protestations. He shall indicate below his signature the date of expiration of his commission. The state does not require the use of a journal or notarial record book, but we always advise notaries to acquire one. A journal or record book is a good way to provide proof if one of your official acts is ever called into question.
