Thanks Professional Settlement...NOT!!!!!!!
Posted by bfd110_IN at 11/27/2007 4:34:00 PM
I got a call for a closing, quoted price and was approved. A local notary friend calls and asked if I got a call. " Yea My price was xxx and they took it". She stated that is what she quoted and they were going to get it approved. She wasn't happy( which was understandable). I get a phone call back from professional while I am on the phone with her and try to switch over. I cant and try to listen to message after it is left. The other notary calls me back and tells me that they just called her and said her fee was approved and the confirmation was on the way. My message was that sorry but the title company has canceled the loan because they were missing a document. WTF?? Playing games I guess. I am glad it stayed with her but I felt the whole things was kinda sh***. I politely called Chris back and told him thanks for calling me and leaving the prompt message about the cancellation but I didn't appreciate being lied to. He didn't say much other than thanks for calling.

Follow up to my first time (sounds bad doesn't it)

I guess he wanted to ride with me to fill me in on the closing and to assist him in selling the loan. Once I got there he met me as I was walking into the house and informed me that he had already gone over the loan with the customer and everything should be smooth. One hour and a half later, we got to sign the first document. He was still selling the loan and I wasnt helping. If it hadn't had been one of my better title companies, I would have left and told them to call me when things were worked out. Needless to say I wasnt in the best of mood when I left 2 hours later and had missed my son's basketball game.

Just got a call from the title company for a closing I have tonight. The L.O. wants to know if it is o.k. to ride to the closing with the closer. Fortunately i am not going back so I said it wasnt possible. It is a 30 minute drive from the title company, think L.O. is trying to cut cost or this is going to be a squirrely deal and he/she is trying to prepare me before hand. Anyone else have the L.O. ride with them?

Vent time on a notary (kinda long)
Posted by bfd110_IN at 8/28/2007 7:15:00 AM
I showed up to buy a small house yesterday. The notary there recognizes me and knows that I do closings also. I must say he did look snazzy in his UPS work attire. We were closing in a realtor's office so I would have thought he would have at least changed shirts.

Once my wife showed up, we started the signing. He never went over anything with my wife ( she didnt know the docs from adam) I had to go over each document with her. I had also noticed that all docs that had to be notarized had already been notarized. Kick in the butt part is that they were for the wrong county (property and where the closing took place were in 2 different counties). I kept my mouth shut though this all. Also in Indiana we have a state sales disclosure that has to be filed on all purchases ( I was even charged 20.00 for the filling of this) I never signed it because it wasn't provided to me. So I know the title company will be using the errors and ommissions to send it to me to have signed now.

Now he made a nice $150.00 for literally 15 minutes worth of work on a cash purchase that I had to go over with my wife on. I would think the title company would want more for their money.

Needless to say MY WIFE WAS NOT HAPPY when we walked out of there.

Sitting here with last day to close on refinance and I have nothing scheduled. The only one that could have been scheduled to close was given to a friend of my cause the scheduler had to get the fee approved and they would call back. Talked to my friend and they gave the closing to her for the fee $XXX.XX I quoted. Guess they got tired of hearing the same fee over and over. OW well....Thank good for a great first 2 weeks.. my last 2 have bottomed out!!!

Interesting conversation with Wendy at OHIO Attorney General
Posted by bfd110_IN at 8/21/2007 12:11:00 PM
For our non-payment friends in OHIO... attorney general's office does not handle complaints that are business to business. Any actions must be handled in small claims. This is per Wendy at Marc Danns office in consumer affairs.
