I have a dual commission enabling me to notarize in several parishes including Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion. My specialty is notarizing vehicle transfers and obtaining new registration and plate for my customer. I do travel to businesses to handle notarizations such as medical records, work related records, court documents and such. For Louisiana property, I will notarize mortgage documents only if there is an original letter signed from the mortgage company stating that the notary is required to return the documents for them to record. Give me a call and I will answer any questions you may have. I have a lifetime membership with the American Society of Notaries and am a current member of the Louisiana Notary Association. When I notarize mortgage, cash sales and related documents that must be recorded at the courthouse, I adhere to Louisiana law LA R.S. 35:199 Recordation of acts affecting immovable property A. Notaries public shall record all acts of sale, exchange, donation, and mortgage of immovable property passed before them, together with all resolutions, powers of attorney, and other documents annexed to or made part of the acts, in their proper order, and after first making a careful record of the acts in record books to be kept for that purpose as follows: (1) If the immovable is located in this state outside of the parish of Orleans, the notary shall record the instrument within fifteen days after they are passed, with the appropriate recorder of the parish or parishes in which the immovable property is situated.
