Once a specific work order has been received, I send a fee confirmation email to the assigning company for agreement, prior to any final acceptance of work orders. This clarification practice helps to avoid any misunderstandings or dissatisfaction by either party in regards to compensation.

LOL - "Just name your fee/requirement!" = More than likely, naming anything above the $19 will get you put on the bottom of the list. Do these people think gas, equipment, time, knowledge, & taxes are free??
Nationwide Notary out of Beverly Hills, CA - G/B/U? Posted by Moneyman/TX at 12/21/2011 5:17:00 PM
Several Nationwide Notary company listings in SC, but none out of Beverly Hills, CA.
The number that came up is 310-855-3266.
She said that they were listed on the coffee site when I asked if they were listed here on NotRot. Couldn't find anything on that site about them.

Before I turn down (already called me 3 times and finally "got approval" for my fee but now looking to reschedule time since I am now booked for the original time they wanted) just wanted to see if anyone has had any recent info about them that might actually be good news (or updated bad news).
Just curious what others think ... Posted by Moneyman/TX at 12/20/2011 4:30:00 PM
If a TC uses a SS company that one of its employees (and/or their spouse owns) and after going thru the SS for the assignment, the TC wants you (the NSA) to deal with them directly, as in confirming the apt, receipt of docs, printing of docs, confirming the closing, & shipping of docs, do others feel as I do that all of those things are the responsibility of the SS that they hired instead of hiring the NSA directly?
I have two TC's that I have previously preformed signings for (at full $150-$175 rate) that are now using SS companies that are associated in one way or another with either the TC itself or one of its employees. Now that they have added the middle-man (the SS) to the mix, after I have accepted the assignment (at a lower rate of course) these same TC's want to continue to email me and send me instructions to call them after the signing to confirm as well as keep them in the loop prior to the appointment.
I feel that I will answer the questions of SS and keep them in the loop and they can earn the money they are charging by confirming with the TC. Especially since these specific TC's decided to add the SS companies when they used to deal with me directly. IMO, some of the benefits of the TC's hiring the NSA directly is the direct communication, less lag time should there be any issues, immediate confirmations, & a better level of customer service (between the NSA and the TC directly).
In these cases it is not a matter of keeping, or starting, a good relationship with a TC in case the SS goes under for possible future business.
DMN Business Solutions - Be sure to check out SC Posted by Moneyman/TX at 12/9/2011 12:47:00 PM
Called for a refi signing at least 130 r/t miles. Offered a MAX of $90. Really??
These people have got to be the lowest of the lowballers, imo. I laughed and reminded them that the avg. borrowers are being charged between $150-$250 for local closings and that $90 would not do (not even for a local one for me).
Since I stuck to my fees I didn't have to be concerned with calling them back after checking SC to cancel the job anyway. Based on ratings it appears that they lowball NSA's then stiff them anyway.
I had never heard of them when they called I thought I would post about the exciting offer they proposed.
Novation Capital - West Palm Beach, FL -Payment issues? Posted by Moneyman/TX at 11/22/2011 1:39:00 PM
Anyone else having trouble getting payment on time?
I have 2 past due invoices (one is 30+ late). I was told the check for one was mailed 11-14-11. Mail from FL to TX should only take 3-4 days, at least that has been the average so far from other FL companies.
Volume for the SS does not mean volume busines for the NSA Posted by Moneyman/TX at 11/22/2011 11:46:00 AM
Received a request today from a SS that gets "volume" business from their customer. I was told how busy this specific customer has kept them in past months and because of that volume they were only paying $40 (tax loan application not refi with appointment time still to be finalized).
I told the SS that even though they have been kept "busy" over the last few months from their customer, this is the first call I've received in months from this particular SS and I quoted them my regular fee. I reminded them that volume for them does not equal volume for me from them (the SS) and therefore I would not be discounting my fee at this time.
I'm not mentioning the name of the SS because when they do call (a few times a yr) for refi signings they do meet my fee and pay on time.

North American Signing - a prank call?? Posted by Moneyman/TX at 9/8/2011 10:20:00 AM
Offered $85 for a RM. LMAO! Thanks for the laugh North American Signing. May be their way of killing time during a slow day or something certainly not what I would consider to be a serious attempt to request my services. If it was they try back when they are ready to pay a professional fee, imo, since my fees start at $150 for RMs.
Oh goodie, you mean I can pocket about $2 for a signig... Posted by Moneyman/TX at 8/11/2011 12:36:00 PM
if that.
JMT DOCUMENT SERVICES just sent an email request (not even a phone call for this low ball offer) for a TX HELOC signing with a base fee of $50! They were willing to offer $25 for attorney office rental fee which is half of what is charged around here and $25 for e-docs, so a total of $100.
After I pay, up front, the $50 office fee I am left with $50 for the assignment, time waiting for pay, printing costs, expenses, wear and tare on my car, my time, my skills, my knowledge, and taxes.
And this is a 4-Star rated company in SC!
Let me break my neck to quickly respond to this generous offer. Unbelievable and insulting to say the least!
