Using your notary seal on signing agency apps

I was told by the instructor of a recent signing agent class that we shouldn't use our seal on the application. I have two that have requested and imprint of my seal. Is this common practice?

Thanks!
Renay

Most State laws are pretty much the same when it comes to this, DON"T DO IT, your seal is used for official acts only.

Thank you! I would think they would know this and not continue to request it on their applications.

Hi Renay,
I have seen this on some applications. I will not apply my notary seal on an application. Instead I will submit a copy of my commission and make a notation that it is against state policy to use my stamp unless it is for official business. If the company cannot respect that, it may not be worth it to work with them.
