Update on Sign on the X

I have done 2 closings and submitted invoice for payment on 7/1/04 and was shocked to find out it will will July 31 or August 1 before I am paid, even though I completed the signings on 6/15 and 6/26. I also have one more this friday but I will not be accepting anymore once I am paid for the work I have done.

If you receive payment from SOX only 6 weeks after the signing, consider yourself extremely fortunate. Payment 4-6 weeks after signing is not unusual for most ss, but for SOX it would be amazing. The notary boards are rife with horror stories about them not paying for 6 months or more, and then only after constant badgering.

I just received a check about a month ago for signings completed in September, 2003. You could be in for a much longer wait.

I did a signing for them over a year ago and still have not been paid. Count your blessings if you get paid at all.
