Where do I advertise? What's the best list?
A word to all those newcomers who are agonizing over where to list their availability, and whether they should pay for such listings:
I took out a paid listing with Notary Rotary two-three weeks ago. It is one of three pay sites I'm on; in additon, I am on numerous free sites. I now get more visitors by far from my NotRot listing than any other list, paid or free. It blows my National Notary Association totally out of the water. Further, it was doing that even before I elected to take out a paid listing; the free NotRot listing generated four times the traffic that NNA did for my paid listing there. It also far outnumbered my free listing on 123Notary when my NotRot listing was free, and it has far and away out-numbered 123Notary since I began the paid listing.
I hope this helps. I'm certainly expecting it to help when Harry sends out my renewal bill.
I would highly recommend listing here for those who have web sites.

Hey, a new acronym for Notary Rotary! NotRot! And I thought I was clever when I dubbed our Modern Journal "MoJo." Now that might be worthy of consideration when renewal time rolls around. :)
While our site serves a large number of notary profiles each day, what would REALLY get things rocking is if more notaries mentioned Notary Rotary to the clients who might not be using our site on a routine basis (or know if its existence). Despite the amount of money we spend on advertising, there are still signing services and title companies out there who do not know about us.

I, like HisHughness, have had nothing but a tremendous success by listing on Notary Rotary. Unlike HHN, I am relatively new in the signing business (Feb. 2004) although I have been Real Estate Licensed since 1987. After 3 months, I decided to become a Premier Member because I didn't know any better--this was the best decision I could have made in my new part time business. By the Paul, Sylvia, Dennis and HisHughness I am not related to Harry. You will not make a six figure income by signing on with Notary Rotary but it might increase your income. I have a real job (self employed insurance agency) and have chosen not to sign up with every Tom, Dick & Harry company out there, but rather to use my signings as a complement to my insurance business. I don't really post much, but Thank You to all of you big dogs who help guide me through my new endeavor.
By the way, this post does contain my real name and state. SEE YA!!

I, Like You...
...,am also in the insurance business. I was a Farmers Insurance Group agent for 20+ years (1977-1997) & just re-entered the industry as an independent agent 10 months ago. Thanks for using your real name & state, Tom. Now if only others will follow your lead.
BTW, where in IA are you located? My wife is from Fort Madison & we'll be there this weekend for her high school class reunion.

My website stats mention traffic from NotaryRotary, but not the NNA or 123Notary. I get my referrals (calls) from NotaryRotary and The Signing Registry. Regards, Brenda

I agree that the notary rotary is the source of most of my business. After signing up with them for free, I decided a week later that I should become a premier member. It was the best $39 I ever spent.
I haven't received one single call from NNA website. :-(

Dear Fellow Notary:
Are you looking for ways to expand your notary business? If you are then perhaps I have something for you that will help you get the word out that you are available.
I done some research and have made a list of all the national notary referral Web sites. There are over 40 different sites, six of which you can be listed on for FREE!
If you're looking to expand your notary business, one of the ways to do it is to sign up to be on one or more of these web sites. Of the 40 sites, I'm listed on over 30. Each has generated enough signings to pay the cost of being listed.
If you'd like a copy of all 40 Notary Web sites, send me a stamped self address-stamped envelope along with $4 to:
Richard Silver 550 Battery St-917 San Francisco, CA 94111
Each listing includes the name, a postal and/or a e-mail address, and a web site address. Most listings include a phone number.
As an extra we are including a list of other various Notary resources that may prove valuable to expanding your business.
I'm sure that if you're interested in "growing" your business this will be a great help.
If you have any questions, give me a call, at 415-370-7479.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Richard L. Silver
