VOIP--Vonage

Has anyone used Vonage or one of the other VOIP companies successfully?

I have high speed cable. Wonder about dropping my land line telephone and switching to Vonage. What do the techies out there think?

Might I suggest you do a little more shoping around. I personally have not heard anything good or bad about Vonage. I dont know about the cable provider in your area, but in my area it's Cox cable. They supply the whole works, ISP,TV,Phone Ect. If you change one, you might have to change all.

Hello OldPro,

Our office utilizes a few Vonage lines for our outbound long distance calls. Vonage works very well and they're the cheapest, most reliable VOIP service out there right now.

The only challenge is that we frequently have to reset our cordless phones (recradle for a few seconds). Every once in awhile one Vonage phone line won't work while the other is being used. Also, remember that if your ISP goes down, your phone services goes down too.

Other than that, I can honestly recommend the service to anyone.

Michael
