I am new to this forum..have a good marketing tip

Last week, I decided to contact all of the title companies in my area, I also added direct lenders to this list too. I requested a fax number for all of these companies and advised them that I would be sending them my information (basically their permission) I fax-blasted all of the companies with my information and as of today, I have received 3 calls. I am doing this part-time to supplement my income, and my charge to Title companies direct is $125 flat fee for 25 mile (50 mile roundtrip) If anyone else have any suggestions, this would be greatly appreciated.

Post your name and state...

People are not apt to reply to your posts if you don't. Don't worry about the negative posts...just ignore them and move on. That is the only way you will learn this field.

Re: CA

Hi Nicole,

If you are new at this, I would suggest holding off on contacting title companies and concentrate on signing companies for a while until you get some decent experience. From what I have read, title companies are much more demanding and if you make a significant mistake you will never get more work from that title company again. Signing companies are more tolerant, but obviously they do not pay as much.

Re: CA

Fortunately, I have extensive experience in loan documents. I am actually thinking of changing my occupation to loan processor. I work for a municipality that supplies the demands for title companies and have constant contact with title companies. One of my first docs to be processed were a seller's closing statement and it was relatively straight foward. I am also lucky enough to work with 3 other mobile notary agents.

Hi, What you've done sounds like a good strategy and good start. I think the rate you charged is fair. It's what I've charged the one title company I have that I work for when they have closings in my area. I also charge $25-$35 for edocs. Is there a listing of title companies by location and direct lenders that I could up? I'd like to do this in my area. Thanks.

Re: Faxes

Just be double certain that you are actually getting their permission to fax your info because it is against the law to send unsolicited faxes. Just asking for their fax number is not obtaining their consent. Also, fax your info during after hours and not during work hours. There is nothing worse than a company to be under time deadlines when transmitting/receiving their own work product and a "junk" fax ties up their machine.

Re: Faxes

I was fortunate enough to speak with contact people in the offices and asked if I could fax over my info. I did a search on anywho.com and searched for title, mortage, loan companies. This gave me a local list of title companies. So far, I have been contacted by 3 companies for signings. I also went to my Credit Union and spoke with a loan officer, she provided me with an agent sign-up form for them.
