Notarizing Grant deeds

I made a mistake when notarizing a grant deed. I wrote the signers name on the line that says: appeared before me ____________________________ - I lined out his name and wrote my name, but should I attach a Acknowledgement or is the grant deed still okay?

Most states and most recorders allow corrections. If you made a mistake, lined through it, initialed it and corrected it with your name, it should be just fine. Considering it is the deed, many times recorders don't like to have an additional replacement acknowledgment, even if it would be neater to do so.
