Interesting Closing.....What a Way to end the month!
I had an interesting closing today! I thought it was just going to be just like any other closing but it was a little different. The docs were late...delivered after the appointment time...travel time was over an hour.....it was out in the sticks and the directions were horrible! One of those closings that would just throw you day and appointment schedule off. The twist was my borrower was a nudist and shortly after the closing began he told me he wore close because he knew I was coming to close the loan. To make a long story short after a few more docs were signed "he asked me if I would mind if he got in the nude" would it offend me?
I told him I would prefer he keep his clothes on because that was what I was accustomed to.
I was trying to keep a attitude of "whatever". He was very comfortable with himself being a nudist and I could careless what he did in his spare time, I just wanted to get his loan closed done and leave. I was not threated by him believe it or not but I found it strange for a man to be so casual about his nudity with a perfect stranger. The whole thing was weird to me.
I finished closing the loan and left. Weird don't you think!

Oh my goodness! Imagine that. Well, at least he asked you first, right?
Well, I think you handled yourself very professionally and I commend your clear headedness in the face of occular peril.
Being a woman, I think the hardest thing about this job is having to show up at someone's house and not know what they're like or what their full intentions are. I think most of the time we're very safe and it can be quite enjoyable making home visits, however, the more experiences I read off the board, the more inclined I am now to always leave my signing schedules at home in an easy to find place so someone could come and find me if anything were to ever happen.
Anyway, good show! Nice shooting! (no pun intended). hah! =)

I'd Like to take a hot bath and have a glass of wine but I think I'll keep my clothes on a little while longer. I keep a spray on my waist band that takes the wind out of your lungs if it hits you and I took a course or two on security so I think I'm prepared. I guess I just bring out the weird in people or they feel comfortable around me. I've had a few me get naked on me but not in a closing!

Oh my gosh, you guys crack me up!!! AL I can't believe the guy actually said that to you. I just wonder if his true intentions were the "I'm a nudist and proud of it" or if he was just a plain ol' perv? Anyway, that's one to tell the grandkids, huh?

I have told this story to several people and everybody's perception is different. His comments phased me but didn't threaten me. Several people said he was just testing the territory to get a response....I really thought "whatever" and continued with the closing. I thought it was weird and I just wanted to get the closing done and leave. You know there are somethings about people you just don't need to know. There is a place and time for everything but it is not at a closing. I feel a little stupid because I never perceived it as a come on.
