Do not be afraid of doing a $50 signing
you might surprise yourself as to how much business you actually get.

I have to be honest, I am new to this field or I should say being on the signing end of the business. If I did not take $50 signings I would have no business at all and I barely have enough as it is. I continually send my info out to ss companies but no great luck so far.

Well I'll stick with 4 closings today for a total of $600.00. You can keep your $50.00 signings and all the stress of all that running around for pennies.

love to be in your shoes, however I am not there yet. I am having a hard time drumming up the business. Not for the lack of trying. Any suggestions to a "newbie"??

Shannon There is nothing wrong with taking a $50 signing. BUT, don't travel too far for that fee. Stay in your own neighborhood. Set a list of fees for the areas you cover, and when a company calls you give them your fee for the area. You will be surprised how many companies will pay it.
If I can be of any help, all my contact info is in my profile
Good Luck

Sylvia, It is great to know your position on this $50 signing info. I have to say, I regularly check your posts as you are known for being a wealth of knowledge. Yes I have set a limit on where I will travel for this fee. I will not go more than 15 miles for $50 and I charge $20 for printing down the docs ( only happened 1 time). I am actually online gathering more info and faxing out left and right to companies trying to gain business. Thank you for letting me know how to get into touch with you if need be. Shannon

I too will do a $50 signing not more than 10 miles from my house and no printing involved. It seems that I'll pick up one of these almost always on a slow day.

I hope to get more signings! And of course hoping to make more than $50 but I guess I will gain more with more experience. Although I am quite familiar with creating the docs and reviewing the signed product I have not been the one notarizing the docs. Here is to more for all of us!

$20 is low for edocs!
Feel free to contact me any time I can help you.
Where are you located? (It helps to put your state in your name - like Shannon_FL, or whichever state you are in)

Usually do but took me awhile to figure out how to change the author with this new log on stuff. From what I heard, now of course this is me being green most people said they only pay $20. Do you charge significantly more? I am in Hartford County CT.

Yes, and I often get told that $25 is the "industry standard" for edocs! There is no such thing as "industry standard"! I charge $45 or edocs. If it is a small HELOC then I will do the edocs for $25.
As you probably know I have a signing service, I don't usually get edoc signings, but was requested to provide a signing agent for an edoc signing tomorrow. I called one of my best signing agents who said she could do it. I asked her what she charged for edocs, she said $35 (on top of the signing fee). I sent the confirmation to her with $45 for the printing instead of $35, as I believe that is what she should get for printing out the docs.
I know a lot of signing agents who charge $50 ($25 for each set), so the $45 I charge is not out of line.

Sylvia, sorry had to step out last night before you posted this info. It is great that you keep a standard of what you pay and although people requested lower, you still paid your normal. You must be doing good in business since you seem to be ethical and classy. I appreciate you not tossing me to the wolves and letting us newbies fend for ourselves

Sylvia, that was nice of you ...
to offer help. As an outsider looking in on this conversation it was apparent that your first intuition was to help the author and not ridicule which would have been much easier. Kudos!

Re: Sylvia, that was nice of you ...
I never see any reason to ridicule! Better not to post anything at all than to ridicule a poster.

$1700 in closings this week... for 15 closings...
It would take you 34 - $50 closings to catch up with me. Do you really want to work that hard? If so... go for it.

$50.00 signings for someone just starting is fine. Not everyone has a chance at the kind of money your speaking about. Every location is different and competition is great in some locations.
when I first started I loved the $50.00 signings because I learned so much, and they were so close to my home base. It takes time, and the big money your speaking about comes after you make a name for your self.
