Edocs didn't arrive for 5 pm signing...
I had a signing for today at 5pm and had to reschedule signing for 5:30 pm due to the fact that I haven't recieved any docs yet. I gave SS a cut off time I needed docs by in order to be able to do signing and still nothing. I feel bad having to cancel this signing but, it was totally out of my control. Borrowers only had a time frame of 5-5:30pm available to do the signing because they have another appointment to be at by 6:30pm. From what I've been told it is the escrow company that hasn't prepared and sent the docs the the person who was to send it to me. Is this common? I'm still waiting for a call to see if I should call the Borrowers to inform them the signing will not be able to be completed today or if the SS going to be the one to call the borrowers. What do you think? Should I go ahead and call borrowers?

Yes, call them. While in theory the signing service or title company should be the one to call them, if you don't know for sure that they did, give a courtesy call so the borrower isn't stuck wondering what's going on because nobody has contacted them.

I haven't had that problem yet, however, I have had to re-schedule the appt because I don't get the e-doc until half an hour before the signing. It drives me crazy when they wait until the last minute. I still need to print them out, look them over and then drive to the location from my office. Would I still be obligated to take the signing if I couldn't do it?

I just contacted Borrowers and informed them that I would not be going out to do the signing today. I let them know that someone else would be contacting them to reschedule and apologized for any inconvenience. I also called the SS and informed them that I did so. Unfortunately I couldn't reschedule to do it myself; but I'm already book for the rest of the week.
