copy of every document they notarize. I did a search and cant find it. Does anyof you do this, is it acceptable to do this. Sure wish I could find that thread.

Very Bad Idea. Some Notary Signing Agents have reportedly kept a photocopy of the HUD to prove that the signing took place. IMHO, that's first cousin to identifty theft.

I keep my contract orders or invoices. They are what show the signing was ordered and my journal are what show's them completed. I don't want to be responsible for a borrower's personal information.

From page 42 of the FL Governor's Reference Manual for Notaries:

Notaries are not authorized to keep copies of the documents they notarize. The best way to protect yourself is to document your notarial acts in a journal (record book or log).
