Sign 'm up? Not for me! Minor rant
This company takes the cake. First off they call to set an appointment and the caller doesn't have the authority to agree to the price. Then he keeps on calling and I am out in the boonies (I LIVE in the boonies) so I call him back and the receptionist tells me couldn't I just do it for $10 less since they are rally tight on this one. Against my better judgement I agree in spite of our $3 + gas pricesand then I get the confirmation.
The confirmation reminds me to dress apropriately. I alway dress appropriately. The confirmation tells me that children are not allowed at the signing but it doesn't say mine or theirs. I certainly wouldn't bring mine and they should screen their notaries better if they do business with people who would bring their children to a signing. And after the insulting tone of the confirmation they have a little disclaimer at the end. They evaluate their signings with the customer and if they don't like what they hear the notary forfeits the pay for the signing. Sounds like a license to steal to me.
This is a new low and they can just go out and try to find someone else. End of Rant. Now I'm going to get a glass of wine, listen to some good music and go sit on my deck.
Best regards, Charles

Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine sounds good to me!
Better than being babysat.

Charles, you'd think we were a bunch of 12 year olds! "Dress appropriately.." and the topper is definitely the 'evaluation' at the end - it would have been my end too. Amazes me they'd have such a nasty tone to a confirmation after you agreed to reduce the fee. They should have been thanking you profusely for helping them out.
Enjoy the glass and the view from your deck!

Thats why I hardly ever work for SS's anymore. This crap has to stop. I'm really surprised at this SS I worked for them once and this was not my experience with them at all.

Thanks for the props!
Sometimes it s nice to be able to vent to people who've been there. Thanks for listening, I really appreciate it. I have always taken great pride in being professional, in evertything I do, I'm sorry that the state of this activity has gotten so base.
Best regards, Charles

Somehow I resent what I see in the mental picture I get when I ponder these reports. I see two images of people I do not like to think of...one who is a funky monkey doing the hiring, the other is the creepy notary who prompted the funky monkey to start such a hiring practice.

Just to clarify, the name of the company is Sign m' up?
Just when you think you'd heard it all about signing companies along comes a story like this. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. What did you tell them when you cancelled the signing?

Oh no, you mean I shouldn't show up in my bathrobe, slippers, curlers in my hair. Then throw the papers on the table and tell them they have 30 minutes to sign them all since it's gonna take 15 minutes on each breast to nurse the baby who has a bad case of gas. Then I have to go so I can pick up the twin and get to my next feeding... opps I mean signing. Oh and the bonus prize is they get an extra 5 minutes to recheck thier signatures since it wasn't gas and I'm gonna change the poopy diaper on thier table. Oh beware of the sprinkler, he's such a little fireman.
Good grief.
