At some time we all get this illegal request. I put a quick stop to this by pointing out that it's probably illegal for them to FAX my fee to me!

I had a lady in a neighboring city find my 123notary listing one time. She saw the laser printer notation in my profile. She called and was wanted to "laser" me her paper, have me "laser notary" it back to her.

Several years ago, one of my senile attorneys faxed me several pages and then called me on my cell to tell me he had done so. He told me that after I made the revisions to fax them back, *specifically* page so and so, because my fax machine ate his copy! Instead of trying to explain to him that was impossible and that it was probably just on the floor, it was easier to just go along with him and assure him that I would do as he said.

It isn't illegal to fax back a notarized copy, not if you have the witness in front of you to sign or acknowledge it. The document is simply not recordable.

I will fax notarized papers but always have a "sticky" on them saying it was faxed. Then I send the original however the customer wants.
