GA witness question

I'm doing a signing tonight in CA for property in GA. I know GA requires two witness on the DOT/Mortgage. I know the notary is one of the witnesses.

Can the other witness be related to the borrower or do they have to be totally impartial?
Do any other docs require a witness to close in GA?
