New Jersey Notaries-Journal Requirements

Hi:

I have always kept a journal since I have been a notary. I was just curious whether or not New Jersey has made keeping a journal a law yet or not. It's very difficult getting in touch with anyone through the State and even when you do, they don't seem to know any answers. I'd appreciate any information you can give me. TIA.

I keep a journal but I have met several notaries in NJ that don't. NJ has not made it law yet as far as I know. The following link is a good starting place for info about NJ notaries.

I checked the site (link in your reply) and checked on all of the items listed (Title 2A, 22A, 46 and 52) and none of them say anything about notary laws! That's why I keep saying it's so hard to find information about notary laws in New Jersey! But thanks anyway and thanks for indicating that it is not law in New Jersey to keep a journal. Thanks for your help.

Debbie

NJ does not require a Notary to maintain a journal.
