PLease don't scream at me...property inspectors in Virginia
I know its been discussed here before. I've searched and read messages. Also been to Society of Field Inspectors website and done search on web. Does anyone know what requirements there are in Virginia to be a property inspector as opposed to a home inspector who goes over the entire house and does a report? Again, please don't scream at me, I'm really trying not to be a pain..... Thanks.

Inspection info / _x_ Non-scream ___ Scream
Requirements in Virginia, I do not know. However, like Rick says, there are no requirements in Texas, in most cases, other than a willingness to work and be flexible, accurate and dependable.
Countrywide has a field inspection arm which requires general liability insurance, but I have no run into that otherwise. General liability insurance for inspections is pretty expensive IMHO.
Just to get you started on getting the "flavor" of inspecitons, here is a good link to review. MortgageRamp.com has excellent training online. It was probably my best leg up.

Also, I have written up info about my experience with inspections and you can see this link on my newsletter blog: http://texnotarynewsletter.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_texnotarynewsletter_archive.html
At that link, drop down to the newsletter entry noted as follows: April 15, 2005 - About Doing Inspections
With these two links you can probably get a good idea if inspections are something you are interested in.
