Yes, there is a site for SSs similar to Notary Rotary and appears to have recently started. They are asking notaries to join as well as SSs and are advertising that they will mediate pay disputes. If you read the requirements for the dispute mediation you will find it really ha no teeth and only clicks in if both the SS and the notary are members of the association. The past due accountmust be 90 days old before they will get involved. I belive that they are asking for $25 to join, I'm not sure. There appears to be no tangible benefit for me as a notary and I doubt the stiffs among the SSs will join. I can only hope that eventually the NSSASSOC gets pro-active and tries to do something to clean up the problems within their business. I doubt that there is any real incentive for the SSs to really correct the problems within the industry. They are a good site to keep an eye on in case anything develops, good or bad.
