not to scare ... just to state fact in central fl area

I tried to fill up today and was lucky enough to find a place that I paid 2.77 a gal for premium, mind you they were out of regular.

On my travels to FIND GAS ... many places did not list price, to pull up and find outragous prices (gaffin in my opinion!) or that they had NO GAS LEFT AT ALL.

If I am to believe the news last night, this will be a temperary situation. Lets hope not for long. Smiley

I always found it helpful to belong to a cardlock fueling system. There are several nationwide ones like Pacific Pride and CFN (I use CFN). I started a long time ago because in our town the srvice would close a 5 in the evening and on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. I used to need gas to show properties and was talking to the Sheriff (my next door neighbr) and he suggested the cardlock. The prices are usually better than the gas stations because they are unatended and belong to distributors. The cardlocks are used by bulk users mostly so you get to participate in the volume discounts and they are alway available. I also suspect that since they are used by the emergency service they are also have fuel when others might not. As an aside I have mine set up to identify the vehicle I am fueling as well as the mileage which gives me fuel consumption figures at the end of the month as well as tax advantages.

Regards,
Charles

What is a cardlock and how do I find one?

A card lock looks like an abandoned gas station but it has a computer terminal with a card swipe device and a ten key keypad. You can pupm pgas anytime you wish just by swiping the credit card through the device. You should be able to find one in the yellow page under fuels, bulk or you can ask around many trucking companies use them as to most emergency services. Ask at your fire station, police station or ambulance service. I have had mine for many years and I can use it prety much wherever I go. The prices are usually better than you find at the gas stations but usually only by a dime or two a gallon but the convenience is great.
