FASS

are they worth working for? I just received a packet and you have to agree to a background/employment check and list 3 references. I also see their base is $50. Are they a TC or SS?

I think both. But watch them. They sent me an ack for a signing and I didn't notice that they didn't put my fee that we negotiated on it. Consequently, they shorted me, and won't answer their phone. Left message, and faxed them, but still no response.

Rick is right, they are both. However, I have never had a problem with them and they do pay more then $50.

Actually FASS is an SS wholly owned by First American

Title Co. FASS stands for First American Signature Services. The two companies are different iterations of the smae company and are night and day operation-wise. I love working with First American Title as a Realtor and Loan Officer and their people are great. FASS on the other hand is a pain and I won't work for them. I'm not sure what is going on but First American (the umbrella co) also recently started RE3W for real estate agents and it too is a totally worthless endeavor so maybe FATCo (title co) is slated for changes also.

Re: I knew that!!

However I personally dont think they are any bigger pita then some of the others out there. They have always met my fees and the checks have always come on time.

I do lots of work for the title company. I don't even discuss fees when they call. I just include an invoice and it is paid in less than 2 weeks. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!!! But I have never worked for the SS part of the company.
