A tip for those that are frugel like me re: map/directions

I found google maps a few months ago and have found it to be a little more up to date than mapquest, yahoo maps, etc. The thing I like most about googlemaps is that when you print the directions they print on one page instead of the 2-3 pages that mapquest generates. Okay, call me cheap, but I have cut down my map printing by about 80 pages per month using googlemaps. 80 pages per month=960 pages per year=an extra two reams+toner that I am saving by using googlemaps.

BTW, I DO NOT own google stock, but sure wish I did. I just wanted to share.

Thanks Becca. I'm just as frugal and only print the first page on mapquest...

I'll definitely be looking up the address via google now. I use them for everything else, don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Yes it makes sense.

I would usually print all 3 maps and have found that when I speak with the borrowers they give the directions that is printed on google (sometimes, not all) I prefer the quickest route

Thanks for the TIP

Thanks for the heads up!
I end up tossing all those extra mapquest pages if I forget to set the print to page one.
I am all for saving trees, money and time!

I print a map from google maps on each and every signing, even if I know the address, just
in case to have a mileage record for tax purposes.

Same here.

I have been using Google maps (http://maps.google.com) for over a year and find that their maps are updated more frequently than other online services. And, they are even more accurate that some of our online county plat maps which are way behind in getting updated.

I like the Google maps and use them frequently.

Have you ever clicked on the "Hybrid" button at the top right side of your screen display once you are in Google Maps? When I click on my own address it can zoom right down to the street level, but when I click on Hybrid, which gives a real "picture" of the area, my house doesn't even exist. I have lived in this home for over three years, and my complex is completely developed, yet the Hybrid picture shows only a handful of homes built on my street. So the Hybrid pictures must be over three or four years old. Not challenging the original poster, I just found it interesting.

I tried doing the same for some of my friends' homes, and it's cool to see the Hybrid image.

Google has only steared me wrong once and that was because I used St instead of Cir. Yahoo maps I flat refuse to use. I use Mapquest mainly because it's been around longer.

I also bought a state atlas at Staples (10% off list price) that I keep in my notary bag. It will help if there is a detour or road construction, also.

On a side note, I got a great Craftsman flashlight that I keep in my glove compartment which works wonderfully for reading street signs and house numbers at night.
