I want to tell the person who wrote the letter to Michigan's

Great Seal. Thank you we had a nice conversation today and they stated that I had miss spoke that I am not allowed to charge the 10 per signature, but per notarial act. Which is what not what I had ended up quoting. I quoted only $2.00 per document. However, they were quite upset that you had not sent them all the information that was provided on the conversation. So it has back fired on you. And for your information I have been a notary for 20 years and have managed major title companies so if you think I was punished you are wrong. Also I have read the Notary Laws in many states and follow the laws of the State to the T.

I hope you find better things to do than stick your nose is someone elses business. I have been trying to help people on this board. But unfortually you have now made it that I don't trust this board.

So for a while I will just read the board.

To my friends on the board I look forward to email you directly.

And I am biting my Tonque.

Janlee,

Don't let this jerk drive you away from us. You are tougher than that! Hang in there. You have support here!

Janlee, I feel your pain...

I too had a stalker from this board that tried to defame my name and my integrity. The sham backfired on him too. You know I respect you, believe what you say and would come to bat for you anytime, day or night.

I'm so sorry that had this experience. You have my email addy and I would love to talk with you if you need to vent. I'm a good listener and we could swap stories. It's a shame what some people will do.

Head UP, walk proud, you know you did no wrong.

I thought this board was for professional banter

Just because you talk about something doesn't mean you will do it. I come here for an exchange of idea's not this kind of BS.

Beverly, my dear...

It's unfortunate, but some will go to extreme lengths to position themselves. It's total BS, if you ask me. A little BS doesn’t scare me. I just keep doing the right thing and any accusations are just that, BS.

Someone keeps ending up with egg all over their face. I guess they need something to do while they are trying to build a signing business. What-ever??

Sad, isn't it?

Becca you have the right attitude. I have learned a lot from you and the way you handle yourself on these boards. Thanks!

Someone trying to eliminate the competition??

Someone wrote them because of something you said on a notary forum? Geez, if that's what it's come too, I'm in deeeeeeeep trouble. To anyone I've ever rubbed the wrong way, I'm really sorry.

Ahhh, the heck with it. I'm really not sorry. You probably deserved it.

Chin up, Janlee. There are snakes everywhere in life, not just here. They only win if you let them affect you.

Absolutely, Janet - chin up, like Al said, the boards are no different than the rest of the planet. That was an incredibly under-handed and plain old nasty thing for someone to do. I remember the thread about this, about the school gig you'd landed and the debate that went on about the interpretation of MI allowable fees. Had someone merely wanted to provide correct info, they would have done so then and there, on the board. Apparently, that's not all that they wanted. Had they perhaps wanted to let YOU know, they would've contacted YOU directly, privately, and could still have been very nice about it.

So, the act tells you what it was that they really wanted - and it was certainly nothing good or kind. Drama loves drama - recognize it for what it is, and don't feed it.

Who turned you in Janlee?

Good grief someone needs a life!!!!

I think a notary from FL, way way back in 2000-2002 turned in a fellow notary, in a different state from a message board, nothing happened to the person that was turned in, buy I really lost respect for the tattle tale and going way out of their way. This happens to people whom just have to have the last word.

Janlee - I am very sorry this happened to you. There are a lot of nice people here. There are some very exceptional people here.

There are also many (not so) hidden agendas. No, not mine and Al's - let me be clear on ours. Alex and I are only trying to take over this forum, you know...then it's on to conquer the entire third world.

One reason I plug in here is because I like to write, I like to experiment with marketing ideas, and I realized there were people here who'd actually read my stuff...even buy it. I don't make a lot of money, but I do make a little bit now rather than giving it away.

It takes years to build support and trust for a person's product or service via the internet forum. The way some try to shut me down or use me as a stepping stone is supposed to be really "sneaky."

For instance I get email and calls all the time to support this or that.

If it benefits me, I do it, and if it is not beneficial to me or notaries in general, I say "No."

Even been asked to take on the NNA so that "they" did not get their hands dirty...they wanted me to be the leader against the NNA and did not want to get anger focused on them.

"Why" is becoming very apparent now. It's not a big deal. It would not be a bad thing the hidden agenda people try to do. The big deal to me is that they think I am too stupid to see the reasons for their letters and telling me what I need to do, who to associate myself with and who to stay away from. I think that's funny.

There's also been a lot of crap thrown in my direction of late because I support ShaneOH in his endeavors. I truly believe in Shane's abilities. Crap from people who wanted to use him and his energy to get a notary database off the ground...then to charge notaries a huge fee for it.

I have watched Shane the last two years so I suggested he take it on without even talking to him ahead of time. I just threw it out there as an afterthought. But, uh oh, I suggested it and it foiled agendas from hell to breakfast, as we say in Texas. I was in hot water there for awhile with NotRotters.

Just be who you are, be honest, and don't worry about it. You know your notary rules and you know your signing agent procedures. The rest of it is uncontrollable and peripheral. I don't blame you for not posting any longer, but I hope you do. I do. When it bothers me and ceases to be fun, I just don't tune in for awhile.

Ignoring the problem makers is the best route...but dang, it's hard to do. Just pretend it never happened at this point.

Please don't leave us. We need all the good guys we can get.

As Al said, it sounds like someone was trying to eliminate the competition.
Just about a month ago I clicked on a link in a Florida signing agents profile, on his site he had $10 per signature, which is illegal in Fl. I let him know it was illegal, he thanked me for pointing it out and changed it immediately. It was a genuine mistake.

Iam glad that the person who wrote to Michigan's Great Seal" didn't hurt you.
Please don't let this one person discourage you from posting. I may not respond to all your posts, but I do read them.

Jan, an old quote, but so true: Don't let the Bas*&$d's get you down. Remember: Cream ALWAYS rises to the top! Just try to ignore them and I'm sure you'd be the first one to give them a helping hand (NOT). You have lots of friends both within the Michigan Notary community and on this board so don't let one person with an agenda get you down (know for sure they won't keep you down).

Jan,
Don't let the unscrupulous acts of one person make you leave this board. Think of the word "karma" in regards to the person that did this to you. "Karma"" The word karma means action, and it's used as short-hand for the idea that every action you take causes a reaction in the future. Positive, caring actions will bring positive results back to you, whereas negative, hurtful actions will result in your suffering.

Re: I want to tell the person who wrote the letter to Michig

Janlee,

We haven't know each other than long, but with our first meeting you impressed me. You know your stuff. As the others who know you have said, don't let this one individual keep you down. If you ever want to talk -- notary or otherwise -- call or email me.
