OT..How do any of you fit exercise into our schedules?

I find that more often than not I push any intended exercise to the back burner when I get a call to do a closing. I suppose I should get up first thing in the morning and get it over with but I'm not much of a morning person, other than for coffee, catching up on personal email and watching the news and weather channel.

So do most of you squeeze exercise into your day somehow? If so, what do you do, where do you do it, and what time of day? Any tips for staying motivated?

I get up at 5 am so I can excerise before anyone gets up

with 4 kids, anything after 6am will just have to wait til another day.

I have started to exercise again, and I chose to wake up very early int he morning to do so, so that I can have the entire day available in the event I get a last minute call. It is so hard to keep a set schedule in this business! LOL.
Waking up at 6am 3-4 times a week is hard it frees-up your day a whole lot!

Hope this helps Smile

I go to the gym three times a week and work out with a personal trainer at 6:30 or 7:00 AM. It is just part of my day on Mon, Weds and Fri. If I have an early signing, I will get to the gym earlier. Once you get into the routine, there is a guilt feeling if I don't go.

We go walking almost every morning at about 6:30 am. We've worked our way up to walking 3.8 miles in about one hour. My goal is to walk 5 miles every day.

I usually take a nap sometime during the morning or afternoon to make up for the lost sleep -- especially if I had a late night appointment the night before.

I got to Curves 4-5 days a week, and I walk to some of my signings, and to drop off docs.

curves prices

When I checked last year (Julyish?) It was 75 $ to start then 40$ a month. that was a special. Then checked at the gym my boys go to and that was 120$ to start and 20 a month, however the 1st 3 months were included in the 120, so we went with that. Curves is good , if you want a place just for women (sorry guysSmile ) But most gyms do have a women's area too. The hours at the curves in my area were somewhat limited though. With our business it's nice to be able to go when I want to.

Re: JinCA...

I've been going for years. I pay about $325/year, as it is cheaper to pay all at once. I always go in the morning, so the time it is open is fine. I used to swim, which cost about the same, but the problem with that is I can't take my phone in the pool with me!
Also Curves often has promos that waive the initiation fee.

None of the local ones here have a pool, boohoo

That is really the only thing keeping me from joining, now that I know I can afford it.
I love swimming, keeps me flexible.......i also try to walk 30 mins/day when I get up early enough.

I'm sorry, did not mean to confuse. I swam at the local High School pool, not Curves! Heck, Curves places don't even have showers...
BTW, I am also JinCA. I just forgot to change how I post.

Walking the dogs - they need it and I do also. They've probably added years onto my life for the walks we have to do.

For people who get that idea that you have to put on the sweats, the shoes, do your warm up, get your hair up, make up off, stretch and all that jazz unh unh - nope...just make a quick block four times a day and get your blood moving.

You'll feel so good you'll do more. I make a brisk half mile four times a day. I know that sounds like a weenie run to most, but then I do those stairs with my inspections. I do them as quickly as the person with me (usually a tiny girl about 20) and my legs are pretty darn firm. It was hard at first but now days me and my buddy James Brown like to say....'Well...I feel GOOD." pretty much by 8 am each morning.

My arms need some work, but nothing that a holding a good heavy bag in a tension position on the short walk to and from the the car won't fix. Seriously, I have always played with my bags to make my arms work hard on the way in the house / office, etc.. Pick it up and put it down more than you have to.

Carry your own groceries in. Lift 'em a little higher than you have to. Park as far away as you can and walk into anyplace. Wear your flip flops, your flats, whatever. You do not have to have $159.95 PF Flyers...or Nikes...Reeboks, etc.

The main thing is to get rare back and GET 'ER DONE.

I have a lovely yoga teacher. I signed up for class on Mondays once a week. The cool part is that she has class Mon, Tu, and Wed. evening, as well as Saturday morning, and she lets me come to any class as long as I don't end up going to more classes than I paid for. If I completely strike out one week, I even have the option of going twice the following week - but I haven't had to resort to that yet.

I am a very early morning bird. I sometimes get up at 4:30/5:00am. When I do this I am normally at the gym by 6/6:30. When I work out with my personal trainer our sessions start at 7am. It's the only time I have because the rest of my day can be unpredictable in this business.
