Hi Jessica,
Marlene did a good job on answering your question below. If the person has made the correction to the document that you are notarizing, then the corrected name is the one you notarize given they can be identified on that corrected name.

I reread the question. If there isnt any corrections, then you notarize as you ID'd.

you're notarizing ---stating you witnessed the signing--- not correcting anything. And as for id with correct spelling...most people CAN be identified with the proper spelling not an incorrect one. Most spelling errors are just a simple fix with initials next to the correction. No big deal.
