title searching

I am thinking about learning how to do title serching in California. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so have they had any luck. Thanks for your help..

My personal opinion (I have owned an abstracting/title searching company for 10 years)
There are so many people doing it, it is more competition involved than being a closer. With states going online, it will eventually filter out the need for a title searcher. Go to www.sourceoftitle.com and you will see what I am talking about.

Re: title searching - I know you are right, Loretta...

I hate to see it. Good luck and I hope you find a way to use all the knowledge and know how to make a new career for yourself.

I hate the online recordings. I have done enough light abstracting to find it slightly bizarre to look up a chain with a computer.

Just weird!

Again, keep the faith - I know you will. You'll be there when many are gone.

Brenda
