I take personal exception to your post...

as my entire family resides in the Twin Cities Metro area.
Yesterday was horrible for those of us who waited for word from each and every member of our family that use I-35 during their commute to and from work.

Shame on you.

Re: Don't you people have lives?

Wow, Delta. Would you be willing to come here to Minneapolis and say that to the families that are waiting to find out about their loved ones? I can bring you to the home of one mother, who has been waiting on word, any word, regarding her son. I can guarantee you that to these families, it doesn't matter that it wasn't a bomb.

People are missing. The ruble and river conditions are creating safety issues in the recovery efforts of the divers. Yes, RECOVERY, not rescue. There is no expectation, at this point, that any further survivors will be found. They are not even sure how many vehicles were involved. All they can do is speculate, at best.

Anyone having difficulty getting in contact with a loved one is forced into this reality until they hear otherwise. That possibility, no matter how it came about, is heartwrenching.

No, what's happened here may not compare, in size or numbers, to other tragic events that happened around the country but it is still a tragedy, nonetheless. Lives have been lost, people have been hurt, many are still missing.

To the rest of the board, Thank You for sharing your concerns and extending your sympathies, not only for the MN SA's but for the rest of our community. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

To you, Delta, I pray you never find yourself in a situation such as this.

Re: There's gotta be a full moon somewhere

I was happy when Lisa called me to see if I was okay today. I was, in fact, a few miles away from the bridge that collapsed last night, but other than being delayed on the road, I was not affected. I just happened to be visiting the cities at the time--I live further south on the Mississippi.

What I did see, was catastrophic. The bridge down, media every where, and many, many concerned people. The phone systems were not working all night because the the amount of calls coming in and out. Even today, when calling out most of the time, I got the message "all circuits are busy". Can you imagine being the family members or friends of those that are still missing. There is no way to get in contact with your loved ones if the circuits are busy.

I thank God for those that care enough to see if their fellow notaries are okay. God bless you all!!

My family and friends drive that bridge at least daily. People took a few seconds to type words of support and you spent your few seconds typing garbage like that?

You are a b!tch.

I was on the phone first thing this morning calling the companies I work with out of MN to see if they were alright. It's a horrible tragedy, regardless of wether or not it was a bomb. All of those people are in my prayers today!

Re: Don't you people have lives? Please read Delta

In tragedies suffered by any community or its members, I am reminded of my favorite paragraph in For Whom The Bell Tolls:

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Re: Don't you people have lives?

yes, a bridge collapsed, people died. Some of our notary community reside in the area.
Please do forgive us for being concerned about them.
So as not to offend you should you be in the middle of a fire or an earthquake or other disaster, I won't be concerned for your safety.

Re: Don't you people have lives?

Delta,

You are a jerk! Yes a bridge has collapsed, what the hell does that have to do with a bomb? If you were to lose a loved one today by any means, should we tell you to get over it, because after all it was not caused by a bomb? My heart and prayers go out to everyone involved in the Minneapolis tragedy, and their families, and friends. Delta in response to your question: "Don't you people have lives?" The answer is yes! The real question is: "Does a person such as you, with such a cold uncaring heart have a life?" You should be ashamed of yourself.

All of us risk our lives every time we drive. This is something that could happen to any of us at any time. For whom the bell tolls, indeed!

We know that LindaSmile There are a lot of good, caring, Californians on this board.
But there is often a rotten apple in every barrel.

I will remember Delta's uncaring, insensitivity if she ever comes on here asking a question. I only help members of the communitySmile

I wasn't being callous

I was merely poking fun at the fact that "so and so just checked in" as if one of the notaries that posts on this board was on the bridge. What are the odds? Of course it was a tragedy. My "callous" remark was aimed at some of the posters.

Re: I wasn't being callous

I didn't see anything the slightest bit funny in your post!
What are the odds that a Notary Rotary member was on the bridge?? Well, there are 83 signing agents listed in the area, so odds are pretty good that one of them could have been on the bridge.
I know that not all the Notary Rotary members in the area don't post on the board, some of them did at one time. But just because the don't post to the message board doesn't make them less of a concern when something like the bridge collapsing happens,.

Nothing to poke fun at at all!!! And your message was callous and uncaring!

Re: I wasn't being callous - YES YOU WERE!

There's a saying for how some people in MN are described - Minnesota Nice. That's what I tried to do with you in my 1st response. However, you just DO NOT GET IT so now I will fall in line with how Elizabeth addressed you, which by the way was how I was feeling and I should have just blasted you the first time around for posting such ignorant stupidity. You are b!tch!

Your comments were to poke fun at some of the posters? The same ones who showed support and concern for what's happened in Minneapolis? Are you kidding me? You're trying to back peddle now because several people have handed you your butt! State it like it really is.

Your comment of the likelihood of one of the victims being an SA is just as stupid as your first post! How do you know that a regular member of this board wasn't affected? Are you here? Jojo, Sharon, and Elizabeth, along with others from MN, post on this board and not everyone knows where they are located. The inquiries were sincere so who are you to poke fun at such a serious subject?

Any one of us could have been on that bridge. Are you saying that our families or friends are not important then? That the inquiries of concern only extend to the SA's?

You should have just crawled in a hole and called it a day because your latest post was as stupid as the first!

I am reading these posts with tears in my eyes

I was in Katrina and know all too well the anxiety of not knowing if a friend made it or not, as did my friends about me. I don't know what Delta's true intent was but reading her remark was chilling. I am very upset. I do hope no one on this board has any friends or relatives even remotely touched by this tragedy.
