Changes in 2008 for renewing Calif Notaries

This information is for renewing CA Notaries who's commission expire in 2008.

1. If your commission is expiring in 2008 and every year after, you must have your fingerprints taken and forwarded to the CA (DOJ) and the FBI.

2. Two 2X2 inch color photographs must be stabled to your CA application.

3. Beginning Jan 2008 when a CA notary renews you will have to be fingerprinted and a new picture sent with his/her application sent to our Sec Of State to renew a license.

This same procedure will occur every 4 years.

I am teaching Saturday Dec 8th at the Marriott Courtyard at LAX on Century Blvd and if you want your fingerprints and picture taken the cost is $80 for fingerprinting to both agencies and $10 to have your picture taken. Just show up 7:30 am -9:00 am.

Call me at 951-522-4919 if you have any questions?

How can helping meet a REQUIREMENT be.....

advertisement ? To simply tell someone, "it's happening here and this is the cost" takes the headache out of trying to find a place that will fingerprint you and then take the photos.
People can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Re: I took the test last month - will they still require

Even if you've already taken the test and passed, and your commission expires in 2008 you'll get a notice from the SOS about their holding onto your new commission until they receive your livescan and photo.

How do I know, because I have a friend that has received such a letter.
