2 this year - none last. US Title out of Cary (crooks) for $275. by Eddie Billers and Bill the owner; and Professional Loan Signing Services for $125. Dennis Scroggins is a deadbeat. Will not work for any signing services that I have not worked for in the past. No new ones in the future. Cured me!

3 Scumbags this year: Lynelle Soto- Certicor USA, Darrin Brown- Redwood Empire Mobile Notary, and most current problem is with Notaries To Go, Inc. Each company only got me for one signing each, but it hurts...

clarification
By being stiffed, do you mean not paid because a transaction did not close or do you mean the transaction closed and you were still not paid?

The latter...
Tho', if one is a prudent IC, you either accept the no-fund/no pay as a 'cost' or you make prior arrangements as to what is acceptable to you/them in that eventuality. For example, if I'm doing a lot of time/miles, I want to get paid regardless. I'm more flexible 2 miles from home.

Re: The latter...
Thanks, Lee. So if everyone included the printing, driving and other work done for deals that do not close, they'd be chatting about significantly higher number of non-payments?

Signatures Plus 8/06 for $200......Passkey closings (James Hamp) out of Macon for two closings last Fall totalling $700.00!.....And I am quite worried about Gary at Final Step, who has stopped taking my calls but owes me for four closings this year...Oh, and Closings on Call out of Frorida, I had to go directly to title companies to get paid, but am still owed $100....(At least with SOX I know I will get paid eventually!).

How in the world does an attorney get screwed out of that much? Attorneys around here would never put up with that much B.S. from that many different companies.
