I'm not surprised at the police attitudes
Their comments were totally uncalled for - flippant, rude and insulting - no matter whether she had been abusive to them or not. And from the videotape, it appears she certainly was not. Based on the short bit of videotape shown, it appears they used their power position to deny her requests with no effort whatsoever to verify her condition. IMHO, the correct response might have been a polite "We're not authorized to do that, Miss. I will call my supervisor and relay your request. We must receive permission from our supervisor before we can take you anywhere but to jail." And if the supervisor refused to allow the officers to take the woman to the hospital, then at the least they should have gotten her to the police station as fast as possible, and there should have been a medical technician ready and waiting at the police station to evaluate the woman's condition immediately upon her arrival. Police officers whose behavior deteriorates this badly need to be behind a desk completely away from the public and doing paperwork while attending classes to remind them that they are there to "serve AND protect".

"OT" please.
Didn't watch it because I don't have sound here...but based on your subject line, it is a shame that this happened. BAD!
However, it is also a shame that this was not posted with OT in the topic, or that good policemen are not commended one thousand times a day for what they do correctly. Thank God for policemen who are good and care about what they do.
We are fortunate to have good men and good women who will serve our communities at a salary which is not nearly high enough for their risks taken each day.
I sleep well at night knowing that College Station's police force will respond immediately if I need them.
I refuse to base my thoughts on "all policemen are bad apples." That's kinda like profiling if you ask me. Yeah, that was a quantum leap in logic. At least I can figure that out for myself.
If we want professionals who are 100% good all the time, let us all agree to increase sales tax and property tax so that departments can be run more efficiently and with a larger crop of people to pick from who will do dangerous work for a price that fits the picture. Better yet, let's get off our @sses and do something on a volunteer basis to improve things or shut our traps about the state of things as they are.
Another "Don't ever see the good...just ferret out the bad and dwell on it." Focus on the bad about a group and you'll draw out the worst. Treat them with respect and you might find they respect you in kind.
And, hey...that's just from ME...not from the devilish minions who "follow" me. One thing you won't get from me is spam from websites promoting ideology which others may find offensive...and no, I am not talking about the link to YouTube.com.
Try sharing something about notarial business or activities for a change.

OT You are correct, Brenda - the majority aren't like that
And the good ones don't receive the attention and praise they deserve. BUT if we turn a blind eye to the bad behaviors, they will not be weeded out. In an ideal world, the good would receive their just praise and a much better pay scale, and the bad would not be hired in the first place. And my own motto regarding bringing about change has always been "Lead, follow or get out of the way...but DO something!" However, in order to work toward resolution of an issue, there must first be attention brought on the issue and the general public must be informed that there is a problem, however large or small. As for OT - excuse me, but I see tons of OT posts on this forum and no objections to anything but spam ideology stuff.

Re: "OT" please.
Brenda,
I posted this because things like this should be seen and discussed in any forum because awareness brings change and ends the type of behavior these officers exhibited toward this woman. I dont think there is one person that wouldnt agree with you but things like this happen everyday. Maybe not exactly like this, but yes like this. I've witnessed this type of thing many times and have been the victim of DWB myself while in the Metro Detroit suburbs, namely Livonia. Hell, they tried screwing with me telling me my license plate was hard to read from 35-40 yards at night and that they couldnt quite make out the R on it. So I asked them (as two more units pulled up) seeing as how I washed my car earlier that day, how they could make out that it was an R from such a distance and how could they tell it was unreadable from that distance. I got nothing but crickets from them. I also found out that if you respectfully disagree with cops and you are fully in the right and challenge them on a bogus speeding stop that they know is bogus, some will back down. Luckily mine did. Again, I'm not saying all cops are bad, but the bad ones are giving the good ones an increasingly serious bad rep. This incident of gross negligence is just another example of that. The public needs to be more vigilant and demand better of their community police and state police. They should respect us the ones they serve and protect just as we should respect their service but also speak up when they do not.
And on the OT, there are many without an OT. I am far from the only one, but little or no OT policing for them? Double standards that make you go hmmm...
See ya in church...maybe

Becca lacks substance, misses point for sexy parts
Well Becca, I can see you are not only inhuman, but you also totally missed the point as usual and went for only the Sexy part (DWB and traffic stops) of the post totally disregarding the meat which contained the point. You say you'll find it on your own but I doubt you'll find that on Fox News. However you will find Chuck Norris (Was I the only one little disturbed by that?) I wish I could be just like you so I dont have to ever worry about a cop stopping me for BS ever again, nor the little people below me. Please go back to watching Real Housewives of Orange County and MTV Next while the grown folks talk.
And by the way, yes, I am a notary. I still do signings when I can as I also have an 8-5 and a 3 hour a day commute to get to it and I'm looking to add school to that as well. When I do contribute notary items such as my post on lowballing fees, they go ignored by you and others so you can post comments just that one asking me if I contribute anything notary related to this site. I rarely contribute to this site because of the uber-pettiness, but I do still read here. Have you anything in your life resembling substance or decency, Becca?

And the truth comes out again.
You have an 8 to 5 with a 3 hour a day commute to get to it. So you do notary work when? At 3 a.m.? Let's face it, you were a signing agent for about as long as the life span of a taste bud. You've been nothing but a troll looking to push everyone's buttons since then. Don't worry about the little people below you. That's too much of a burden. After all, we're all little people compared to you and you think everyone is below you. We'll all manage without your life guidance. Honest. And please don't sell yourself short by saying you rarely contribute to this site. You NEVER contribute to this site.

Al lies in Col. Jessup moment, proves he cant handle truth
Well Al, lets look at the time math shall we? If I got up at 6am and was out the door by 6:30, that would put me at work (with traffic) at around 8am correct? Now, working a straight 8 hour day with an hour for lunch that would put me out at 5pm right? So, going home with traffic factored in would put me at home at around 7:30pm unless I stopped for something (like a closing!!!). Now, here is something a faaaaaboulous South Park reject character like yourself forgot to consider. Could Jahari or "JJ" as you like to call me, print documents or schedule closings for the next day? Is it possible that he could accept a signing a day in advance, receive the docs in advance and print them in advance? Could the title company have the audacity to (gasp!) mail the documents to the borrower? Oh my golly gosh yes! All three scenarios are very real and very plausable...except for you.
You are so full of contempt for me you sacrifice rational, critical, even creative thought in order to get back and take a shot at me so you once again try and paint me the liar you are just so juicy for me to be. You wanna call me a troll because I look but dont post, call me a troll. I'm not a troll but if you want to label me as such, knock yourself out. Its a free country. You wanna call me Jihad, call me Jihad. Call me anything you want because I know you already have. You are insignificant to me and have no bearing on my life, how I live it or anything else in my universe. My posted link regarding this woman was intended to draw attention to the growing commonality of apalling behavior many people exhibit toward another because they simply do not care and do not want to be bothered by another's problems. Not get into yet another forum fight with you or the rest of the NR Mob. Again, no matter what or anyone else you people disagree with post even if its the price of wheat in China, you'll twist and use it.
And because I love proving you wrong Al, a simple search of postings by author using my name will show my contributions to this site on lowball fees, technical issues, and the one that for some reason started the $hit storm of Jahari vs. the NR Mob, my post on signing services outsourcing scheduling to foreign nations like India creating a potential communication barrier. To say I NEVER contribute to this site is not only a lie, but a bad one seeing as how the proof is searchable. Look it up.

What I can't figure out? Why the owners of this forum (whom I respect, ordinarily) tolerate this? That is beyond me.

Apparently, you want to sound "kewl" --or you'd stop using "sexy."
Seriously, FWIW, this granny thinks it'd serve you well to drop that ol' dusty word, "sexy."
If it were me, I'd shake that stale old spin jargon out of my head and find some new material...but you do what you want....I'd never tell you what you SHOULD DO or think I know all about what the "PEEPS NEED TO DO NOW!"

All you seem to see is black and white, it’s people like you that make race an issue. You are the pathetic racists, but you are too ignorant to see that. Get the chip off your shoulder and open your eyes. There's a lot of color out there in the world, not just black and white.
BTW, I've not watched MTV since the 80's...too much of that Gangsta Rap that I find offensive and degrading and I HATE hearing the N word even if it is out of a brothers mouth.

Andy, you read my mind. How on earth do any of us have the right to tell others what they NEED to be doing or how we SHOULD respond to anything.
Every post this guy makes to follow up a sheep in wolf's clothing post is full of the language of "Big Papa knows best and you NEED to listen to me."
It would be one thing if such puffed up dictates and smug confidence was the result of a notary rule or two, but no...it's all about nobody's seen the trouble I have and that makes me a fount of untold puffed up wisdom. Blah, blah, blah.
Wise people don't tell others what they NEED to be doing. They lead by EXAMPLE.
Sadly enough J doesn't realize that he is full of dictator and self-baked opinions he wants to lay down as the law.
In a college psychology class I learned a concept from a wise professor: Beware of people who "SHOULD" all over you. They are narcissistic Hitler control freak wannabes. (Lots of that goes on here! LOL - "Let me tell you I know how to live, breathe, vote, treat others and you better by God do it too!!!"

Well I was apalled and I saw this video on Fox news as well as CNN. As the sister of a "cop" I don't appreciate you lumping them all in the same group. I have had the unfortunate experience of seeing the police at work many times. Yes their are some losers in every bunch but I can't negate the good the others do.
My area has seen the downfall of many bad cops lately. I'm just glad that they have been weeded out of the pack.
I know you must have seen the movie Crash. This film depicts a more accurate synopsis. Their are many deminsions to people not just the ones that get caught on video.
I have said a prayer for this woman. I hope she will be alright.

The seriousness of the charges, outweigh the facts
She admitted she stole the car, but that fact is not even discussed by our resident liberal wackjob. She should have been and problably was offered medical attention, but the fact that the police did not treat the car thief with kid gloves, totally absolves her of grand theft auto. She couldn't dial 911???????? She thought somehow grand larceny was good for her unborn child?????????? The police will take their lumps for their part in it, want to bet that this woman will not be prosecuted and that the civil rights attorney will turn a tidy profit. Just as liberals would wish it:-o

Re: Dog
No... but it also seems like she has a language barrier. I can see that to some "took" might mean stolen and to others "took" might mean borrowed. This is going to be a very sad situation if a scared bleeding pregnant woman took a car (poor judgement) in order to get to a hospital and this is what happened.
Both Doctors and Police officers see things that I don't see in my normal life. I know for a fact that they detach themselves from humanity in order to get the job done... it's really sad when that detachment goes too far and they stop listening and feeling.
The other sad part is that one bad apple spoils the bunch. KC's finest are still KC's finest. I don't think every teenager in Colorado is a killer because of Columbine... I wish Jahari would try to see the forest through the trees and get off the panic bus. The reality of what happened is sad and appears unjust and I hope she gets her day in court.

Two things suspects do without hesitation when first caught
1. They try to divert attention from their misdeed. When confronted often blurt out what really happened. This lady hit the mark as though it was scripted. I respect your opinion, but I would say that this ladies only day in court will be her civil suit, regardless of the facts. And further more promote the liberal agenda of unaccountability. It would seem that the theory of relativity has gone out the door. There is no longer and equal but opposite reaction, simply and equally stupid reaction to at best really bad judgment.
