John P. Doe's chicken scratch...

is how he signs his license. You can barely decipher one letter from another. His signature is
J P. Doe (Chicken scratch). The instructions says to sign as typed (printed) on sig. line. He has never signed his name as it is printed, therefore his signing is now different from his license signature. Is the Signature affidavit the document that will verify both signatures for the Title Co.?

I cannot read most of the......

signatures in my journal. As far as I know there is nothing that says that a persons signature must be readable. If the signer says that their scribble is their signature of the name as printer on the documents, that's O.K. Even if their scribble looks the same for each name on the Signature/Name Affidavit, that's O.K.

Re: I cannot read most of the......

I was reading somewhere that the recorder may or may not except the signature that cannot be read and that one should insist that the signer signs as printed. But I couldn't see how that could be enforced.

Anyway, thanx for your thoughts.

Just make sure there are no LEGIBLE variances...

For instance... if it wants a middle name, a cap letter and some chicken scratch will fly, but a cap letter and a period will not.

If it asks him to sign with no middle name 3 cap letters in the chicken scratch wouln't fly.

If his signature is all chicken scratch and nothing descirnible as a letter at all there ain't much to talk about... and as was posted earlier he can scratch the same all over the Sig Aff.

Now THAT, Gary, gives me a guideline to follow because some of this "chicken scratch" has left me scratchin' (my head!) :-) Thanx
