How many have signed up or done the FASS training?
I'm just curious as to how many of you have signed up for the training or already completed it. If you've already done the training, what do they "teach" you?

Most of the workshop was devoted....
to the use of signtrack. Some lender specific documents were covered, mostly the ones that they have had repeated notary errors on. I was surprised at the number of notary errors the instructor said they experience, it was something like 25% of the loans signed in December had signing errors.

Re: Most of the workshop was devoted....
There was an interesting thread on another board stating that there were very few packages that came thru error-free. However, this was posted by a Title Co. employee (not FASS) and the one HUGE thing that was sooooooo obvious was that the 'complaints' were definitely specific to only that Title co. They weren't even state-specific. Matter of fact, ignored what the state requires--only homed in on 'title-required' bugaboos. Ya' know... like blue ink, print your name under your signature---apparently Title doesn't think your name on your stamp is sufficient even tho' my particular state does.
Another interesting point made by the TC poster was that many SS do NOT pass the 'particulars' on to the Notary. Well, sheesh, if we don't know their totally arbitrary, company/lender-specific bugaboos, how the heck can we comply? They must think we're all mind-readers. And, no, I am NOT advocating 40 pages of instructions--just those that are important to that Lender or TC--no matter how 'state-unspecified' they are.

Re: Gee Lee, that must be the same one that set me off
Especially when she said the warehousers print the notary's name under their signature, in essence altering the notary's certificate...wonder what else they do to the certs.

"wonder what else they do to the certs." I hate to even think about it...
BTW, I got the impression that poster was with TCT. If you've read that thread, you know that it set me off, too!! ;>
