Here's the list I use:
Don't shoot yourself in the foot. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Good luck.

Re: List your nightmare problem signing service companies here!
I know some people might or might not have the same problems, so I like to know up front if there may be a payment issue. Here are the bad ones, but I will post again with GOOD ones in my experiences only: BAD: Great Lakes Notary Signatures Plus X Marks the Spot
Those are the only ones in my eight years of signing that have just been terrible to deal with. Obviously there have been occasions where some companies took a bit longer. These were just too much work to collect less than desirable fees. I will not work for them, but everyone should use their own judgment. Have a great weekend!

GOOD ONES ARE OUT THERE TOO!
I have had great experiences with the following companies: Swafford Settlement Industry Partners Title All Reverse Lenders First Choice (I HAVE read the issues, but for me, no problems) Madison Settlement Services Assured Title Agency National Notary Services AB Signing Services US Title Home Loan Center (DBA Lending Tree) National Closing Solutions These are just some of the good ones. In my experience, there are so many good ones and just a few bad apples. The good far outweigh the bad. Love the business, and I love most companies

Re: GOOD ONES ARE OUT THERE TOO!..Your Right!!
And you have listed just about all of the good ones. I have a list of Signing Services that refuse to pay more then $50-$65 w/e-docs. Funny thing is, all of these SS's used to pay good fees.

Will you share the list of "low pays" with me? I would like to keep it with me so I don't waste my time finding out about an assignment when they have no intention of paying me more than $50.... Thanks, and have a wonderful weekend

Janet, My list might be different then someone else's. But trust me, you will know who they are when they call. They will flat tell you "we only pay $40-$50 + $15 for e-docs" I bet you can think of at least 4 of them right of the top of your head if you have been doing this for any length of time.

Re: GOOD ONES ARE OUT THERE TOO!..Your Right!!
Thanks LawrenceOK...Yes, for sure I have a mental list of the low pays but thought I might be learning of some new ones. I think the worst is the Nations group. They want to pay me $40 for overnite docs and then argue when I say that my fee is double that for overnight docs and then only when it is in my immediate area. I am commissioned in eight parishes in Louisiana and will soon be statewide and they want me to drive for an hour each direction for $40???? What is with that? And then they argue when I attempt to politely decline. Wow! I told them last time that they would have a difficult time finding a qualified experienced notary here for that amount and he acted as though I had insulted him and said that they find them all the time. Well good for them but poor notary who agrees to such a low fee.

$80 with edocs is still too cheap. Even for cheap SS.

I say nothing less then $100 + edocs for the rural highways and back roads I have to drive. If you can call a cow trail a road that is.
