Bancserv needs a copy of my driver's license?
For months I have been receiving requests from Bancserv stating they need another copy of my commission to keep on file. According to them they never had one in the first place. So about six months ago I faxed it over to them. Again. Months go by and they claim they still don't have it. To be honest I just did not feel like sending it in. Again. So I never did. Then today I receive an email stating that in order for me to receive orders from them and stay active they MUST have a copy of my driver's license. Now that one I really don't understand. Are they afraid I cannot drive? Not only that but I have not worked for them for forever as according to them, unless they have a current copy of my commission on file they won't call me. Which I'm comfortable with.
Why do they need a copy of my license? Just curious where that comes from.

Not sure why they need your drivers license either. But when you sign up with them at first, they require a copy of your commission, stamp, DL and SS card... so maybe back when you signed up you didnt supply that, so they are just trying to update their records.
BUT BancServ is a very low paying company right now... they want to pay $45.00 for overnight and $60 for eDocs...
I dont need to waste gas that bad, to accept such payments.

You are right of course. The amount of money they are paying makes me exert no more effort than to delete the emails they send me. I just think it is kind of odd that they were insisting for months they had to have my commission. Which I never re sent. And now they simply have to have a copy of my id that I am sure they already have. Reminds me of a few months ago when a signing service I had worked one time kept calling, and calling and calling me demanding that I send them another copy of my W-9. I told them at the time that unless I was currently working for them it was not necessary to have one on file all the time. I finally told them not to call me again unless they had some work for me. Then we could talk about a w-9.
I guess I'm just a little suspicious of companies that feel they have to keep all my information on file when I'm not really connected with them at the moment.

I refuse to send anyone a copy of my DL. ID theft is too huge an issue, no matter who or what company they are.
If they absolutely insist on having a copy (hey, maybe I peddle a bike everywhere to lessen my carbon footprint) then I redact/black out all numbers and personal information except my name and issue/expiration dates.
I don't send copies of my SS card either. The card states right on the back, NOT to be used for ID purposes. If they need my tax payer id number, I send them a W-9 with my EIN number on it.

Hi Kate
If a company wants it, I send it to them. I just black out the Lic Number and birthdate. Then write "items blacked out for privacy issues". Never had a problem or had it questioned. Hope this helps.

I, too, received that e-mail today. My response was, "Why do you need a copy of my driver's license?" I am concerned about Identity Theft. I have yet to receive an answer. Furthermore, I've never done any work for them as my fees are higher than they are willing to pay.
In fact, I lost a very good paying customer (Loan Officer) who got a new lender that insisted that they use Bancserve. I sent an "It's been great" e-mail to my friend. Sorry to have lost them

They repeatedly ask for all this information even when you have sent it. My experience with them is that they do not put your agreed fee on the confirmation even when you specifically ask for it then short you $25 no matter what.
