On pervious thread, the 'reply in forum' button does not
appear. It's not that I want to reply, but wondering, is that because intervention was made so further comments are now omitted from being made?

Yep, I'll bet that's it, jba. n/m

I'm glad because I almost lost my mind.

Re: I had something to say but couldnt
and I am guessing which thread it is. I missed the link - thankfully that someone posted. Being fortunate not to have a child with special needs, I often think of my dear cousin, whose daughter was originally not thought to live beyond 6 or 7 but is now 17. I admire my cousin becuase to be honest it takes a very special person to raise a special needs child.
NOW with that being said (and like I stated I missed the link) that goes way beyond bashing. That is cruel from what I gathered. Some of the "vetrans" on this site may at times be harsh but I for one have benefitted from a lot of their comments on the board as well as personally. As my husband says when it comes to work, "check your feelings at the door" and "business is business and personal is personal".

Re: I tried to reply, too...
I had wanted to thank Brenda for always being so eloquent. I saw the link last night as I was poking around on NotRot and it broke my heart. As a Mom with two sons with special needs, I figured I would be more affected than most people by it. Maybe even be accused of not having a sense of humor about such things. So, I didn't post last night. Then, when I read Brenda's post this morning, I realized she said it all. So, the only thing I wanted to do was thank her! So, thank you, Brenda! You are awesome! (I was glad to see the post removed, also.)

Re: I tried to reply, too...
There are people that like to argue and then there are people that are outright ignorant and should not be totally ignored. This was not a difference of opinion, this was clearly discrimination. That would be like me telling a racial joke, no one would appreciate that.

I didn't care about replying to this as (longish)
I slept thru it all and don't know what really happened. But, was just curious about not being able to reply. Only saw that one other time on here - and no, I don't remember where.
I really think I can fill in the blanks, and I am appalled. Of course, I am appalled when someone emails me and says: 'Hey - tell me, etc.' Just the lack of courtesy entended to another is disgraceful. Please, for some of you younger ones out there, don't tell me to 'get with it, it's the new century...' or any other excuses for not treating your fellow person respectfully. I have grown grandkids, and I have heard it all somewhere along the way. I had kiosks in many malls accross this country, and what one hears in a mall should sometimes be confined to back alleys and/or smokey rooms.
I had been off to view MichiganAl's website because of Roger's posting, got sidetracked, and was on that page all night. Yep Al, that was me, but I was watching Iron Chef shows (both), so Roger, here's evidence and proof that happens. BTW, Al, your site is just like I would want should I ever put one up, meaning it was making me look, turn pages, read, etc. Then you had that link to #33325, and I spent time there. And it was while I was there, re-reading that entire thread, that I made notes of messages and their content, which, if Brenda so allows, I will be referencing frequently in the near future.
This is the only notary message board that I find that fits me to a T, and I too am tired of some of the shenanigans of those who cannot or will not learn to read, find excuses to act any which way they wish and then stomp off muttering about whatever under their breaths. Or that famous line, "have a good day."
And now Sarah and I are off to an UnBirthday Party so I will have to continue another time, or just put to rest. I love the 3 yr old perspective sometimes!

Thank you, I'm so glad you found my site useful
You know, despite the occasional bellyaching about how truly awful we all are, many of us really are trying to help others and raise the standards in this industry. This industry is in turmoil right now. Being adequate at what we do just isn't good enough. If you're not striving to be exceptional, you're going to find yourself left behind. And if people are too brittle to hear the plain truth, then they'll never survive.
