website to get the training for finger printing, live scan

I need a good website or company, so that I can get the training for finger prints and live scan.

have you tried NNA? I'm sure they have a training

program costing mega $XXX.XX...they always try to gut out the notaries for every penny & dime they have - otherwise, I'd try google for the live scan....expensive equipment. Fingerprinting you really need NO real training - if you ever watched any type of cop show where someone is getting fingerprinted, pretty much the same...try fingerprinting on yourself first for practice...Good Luck.

I was hoping PAW would jump in here..but since he hasn't

We discussed this on another board about 6 weeks ago - here's a portion of the information he provided...

"in most cases, the person taking the fingerprints must be an approved vendor by the recipient of the fingerprints. (The state has only TWO approved vendors for LiveScan!) For example, for state or county licensing, 10-card fingerprints must be taken by an FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) authorized facility, such as a city police depart, sheriff's office, etc. FLDFS (Florida Department of Financial Services) CFO Alex Sink recently announced that for Florida residents, fingerprints must be taken by LiveScan method at one of the Department's fingerprint sites (http://www.fldfs.com/agents/ElectronicFingerprintLocations/county.htm). "

Hope this helps.

I've often wondered

about fingerprinting when I see it on these boards but I've never taken the time to look up anything for PA. I also see it in some PA profiles. EVERY person I know that has been fingerprinted has gone to the police station. I've never heard about 'private' fingerprint taking in PA. I don't know what you actually get finger printed for (unless your mug shot is being taken at the same time !!) other than people who work in schools and now in PA certain insurance licensees. I'm sure there are other situations that I don't realize.

Sue, I did live scan for an approved vendor of the

Tn. Bureau of Investigation for a short time. Anyone applying for a permit to carry (guns), adoptive parents (and any children over the age of 16), foster parents (and children over the age of 16), teachers, day care workers, state employees etc. must have their prints ran through TBI or it's approved vendor.

Re: Priority there is more to fingerprinting them meets the

eye(at least to do it correctly and be accepted by the hiring entity), live scan is more involved and as another poster stated, expensive equipment to purchase.

Re: 2 fingerprint units for sale

Anyone want to buy one or two portable fingerprint units. I used to do quite a bit of fingerprinting, especially for camps in the spring but since I sold my store I really don't want to bother with it anymore. Send me private message and will negotiate.
