First National Closing Agents

Beware! They don't pay. I called the Park Plaza Escrow who hired them and they don't seem to care even though "this was not the first call they received from a notary who was not paid".

Call Terri Carabio at 213-481-7191 and also fax her your invoice to 213-482-0643. It took awhile to get paid, but I did finally receive payment mid January for a signing I completed in October 07. Terri is with First Legal Network, the parent company of First National Closing Agents.

I did a closing for them also in Oct, 07. Nick told me he'd pay me in one week, he didn't. Told me he'd paypal me, he didn't. Finally after speaking with Terri in A/P, I was paid in December but shorted $135.

Terri told me this was all Nick would approve. Called Nick on it and he denied it and called Terri a liar. Went back to Terri to which she called Nick the liar and said she' call the end of last week after she spoke with Nick. No call, so I called yesterday, left a message. Got through to Terri today and she told me Nick told her I was only getting what was sent to me and I could pursue the rest in court.

What do I do?? First Nat'l is now a defunct entity. Do I have any recourse?

The usual disclaimer applies: I'm not a lawyer...blah, blah, blah...Call Nick and advise him that since he was the one that contacted you for the closing, he will be the one you name in the small claims lawsuit you will be filing. That should scare that deadbeat into getting you paid.
