The dentist said the pain and infection were immed and she could do nothing until it cleared.....so she sent me home with antibiotics and an appt next week... I HURT I HURT I HURT.... and it is a front tooth.....so my smile is really beautimous rt now... OUCHIE

I'm sorry. Can't imagine how you feel. I only know that a long time ago when I did not have dental ins, I let my teeth go. I had a cavity that started to hurt, and hurt and hurt. I spent a night of hell. I even called the emergency room and asked them what to take to help. I told her if she didn't help me I was going to take the entire bottle of aspirin. She told me to try cloves. Rub it on the tooth. I don't think it helped much. I did get to the dentist the next am and he had to do a root canal. Tooth pain is worse than labor pain IMO. Hope you get some rest tonight. How did this happen?

I really feel for you Zee! Can imagine - I remember once in middle of night banging my head against wall to hopefully feel something besides that pain. Get well - take your medicine, and quit eating red hots (which did me in)!

Linda's right, get some oil of clove and rub around the gum area, it helps to numb the area. It's what the dentists use to lessen the pain of the shots they give. Hope you get better soon.

Oh, do I feel for you! My "bad tooth" started aching two weeks ago...to the point that the entire right side of my head hurt. I am petrified of the Dentists office, but knew I had to go the next day because the office would be closed for two weeks over Christmas & New Years. I went and am I glad! I just finished 10 days of antibiotics and killer pain meds when necessary...and they were necessary. It's much better now, but now I have the horror of going to get it fixed to deal with.
I hope they gave you pain meds because like the others have said, there is nothing in the world more painful than a tooth ache. Bless you, my dear, Zee...I truly feel your pain.

Try using Listerine to help get rid of the infection. It will sting the first couple of times but will help to relieve some of the pressure. Also, maybe try hydrogen peroxide. Another one for getting rid of the infection. Just make sure you dont swallow it. And salt water may help also. Gently swish with all these remedies. And try one at a time to see if they help to relieve the pressure. If it hurts to swish, then use a q-tip to apply in the area you need it. Good luck, I have had infected teeth also and they are NOT fun. Almost forgot, if none of the above work, its time for Jack to help.

Re: sorry for your pain
Oh my. I feel for you. Been there with a bad tooth and yes, it can be just "AS" painful as childbirth. I don't like either that's why I try to take care of my teeth as much as possible and "I only had one child" cause that pain was toooooooo much!
