Notary Agreements

I no longer (yes, I used to, when I was stupid), sign any agreements with any company to get "on their list". Most of them are low ball paying with a list of items to find ways to deduct from the fee. I will NOT send them my DL, SS card or references. What's with the references?? I've been doing this over 5 years and I will not take any "tests" to prove I know what I'm doing. Are they willing to pay you more if you pass the test?? I would like to send them a test so they can prove they know what they are doing. :-)
Oh, and all you notaries out there accepting $45 closings should just waive the fee and volunteer to do them for free.
