Re: I can top that

257 in one loan and 254 in the second for a 2nd property - same borrower. WOW!!! I surely undercharged for those packages!!! Of course the SS that hired me claimed they had no idea.

Fee adjustment usually OK

Don't think I've ever had anyone turn me down when these monsters appear. SS usually doesn't know size.

When I started in this business in 2001...

...refi packets averaged 75-85 pages. I got a $25 print fee without argument. My average packet today is about 135 pages. My print fee is $35. I have to argue to get it.

everything was o/n... and they paid better than today.
About '98, '99 edocs began and MINIMUM offered for printing was $50.
That's progress for ya'.

I do closings for an Ohio TC and their refi packages are typically 60-70 pages..Nice and sweet and pay me well too.

Just completed one with 196 pgs.

5 ID pages for me to fill out (I filled out 3 and will be sending back 2 blank), 2 sets of 3 different IRS forms for each signer, 6 borrower's certs, 6 TIL's (one different than the rest) and many, many more duplicates.

Called SS to make sure the file had not been double scanned and was told that this lender required all the duplicates to be signed as well. They knew this prior to requesting my services.

I informed them that future orders from this lender would be at a higher price to cover extra printing and extra ime at the table. Would have pushed for it on this one but I was busy with other pressing issues at the time I called them and didn't feel like arguing with them this time. Same SS has increased my fees in the past for the same type of thing.

Re: Just completed one with 196 pgs.

I was emailed a package. When I saw large amount of pages I called the signing service for a higher price. I was told that I was trying to hold them hostage by asking for higher fee.
And, that they were going to have to tell title that I canceled at last minute they would take me off of list and let title know who had done it.
I have never had this happen before.

Re: Just completed one with 196 pgs.

Ali, don't let anyone push you up against a wall like that. If that's the game they are playing, I would either turn the signing back, or do the signing but then call the title company and let them know the shinannigans (sp) of this SS. Then I would market myself directly to that title company.

I agree with all the others, Ali

Since you have the contact info for the title company, in this case, I would definitely market directly to them as well as let them know what happened with the SS. The SS is the one that threatened to lie to title about the situation. If it were me, I would also up my minimum fees for this particular SS company for future orders to cover the possibility of huge packages since they acted the way they did on this order, if I accepted any at all from them.

I would have also turned the job back due to the SS's attitude about a normal request in such situations. It has been my experience that SS companies that act like that are usually the ones that have difficulty paying in full or on time as agreed.

Re: Just completed one with 301 pgs.

Three Mtgs. Three Notes, 3 TILs, Three Huds, and a whole mess of duplicates. First and second email had 76 pages each, Third email had 59 pages and fourth email had 90 plages. I think that adds up to 301 or someplace close. It was a CitiBank closing. Was told that Citibank is asking for this. It was a Title company that hired me.
