Costco used to have the best price around...

...on a case of 8.5X14; it was only $40. When I picked up a case there Friday, though, they had gone up to $43. Next thing you know, they'll be charging a quarter to try the goods at the sample carts.

Re: Costco used to have the best price around...

I just bought a case of 10 reams at costco for about $42, legal.
I also bought a case of 10 reams of 8 1/2 x 11 for around $24

Re: Costco used to have the best price around...

The "about $42" was actually $42.99, Buddy. I guess that's "about $42" in the same sense that Havana is "about" the same latitude as Miami.

I couldn't remember the exact price I paid for it, Hugh.

I'm sorry I didn't look it up and give you the exact price. Next time I'll know better.

I haven't paid more than $29 for 8 x 11 this year. There are always sales at Office Depot and Office Max that beat Staples most of the time. Once this year, Staples was $25 a case (limit 2) but you have to watch the email flyers. Twice, the in-store specials (not necessarily advertised) at Office Depot were less than $29 ($26 a case). You also get OD rewards of $2.60 a case which adds up - you get a voucher quarterly - my last one was $46.00. Best legal paper is at Sam's Club - $22 for a half case of 8 x 14 ($44 for a full case for the math challenged). At least that's what they are charging in Albuquerque.

Careful there, Ralph, in casting aspersions on those of us..

...who are math challenged. An earlier post in this very thread noted that legal at Costco has gone up from $40 a case to $43. Now, admittedly, I'm a product of Texas schools, which teach that 1 Texan = 2 New Mexicans, but even by Texas math $44 a case at Sam's is not the "Best legal paper" if you can get a case at Costco for $43.

To my mind, $22/cs is cheaper than $29, and $1.00/ream

forHammermill is pretty much rock bottom.

But, that's just me.
