Structured Settlements for $70.00

I was contacted by a Structured Settlement Company who offered me $70.00 for a Structured Settlement for thier client.

The signing was 30 minutes away and I was told to just scheduled with the client.

What do you think of this fee?

Personally, I will not drive round trip for an hour for $70.00.

Like the post earlier today, you need to price what you feel work for your business model.

Too low for the drive time & the job

Usually printing, too, but you didn't say. I find that structured settlements usually require a lot of 'filling in the blanks' and so, despite the fact that it's not a lot of paper, it still takes almost as long as a loan signing.

I haven't done any in years (don't like them and stopped accepting them) but I agree, they often do require lengthy filling in the blanks and sometimes the signer thinks you will explain all the paperwork to them. I've had at least one where we could not get in touch with the structured settlement company to answer questions. Too much of a PITA for me for the piddly pay offered, so I decline now.

Re: Too low for the drive time & the job

It's been my experience that the same paperwork the company sends to me has been sent to the signer. I usually tell the signer to complete their copy before I get there, except for where signatures are required, and then we will swap. The signer knows what they're putting in the documents, so there is usually no difficulty. I do have a very limited distance I'm willing to travel for the fee, though.

That's too low. The ones I have done required all pages to be faxed back, usually about 45 on letter. They are easy, and relatively quick, because they have went over with the buyer, and usually have had copies already to see. The lowest I have done has been $95.00 but usually I try to get $100.00.

$100 is the norm for a structured settlement. Extra $ for travel.

If it works for you, do it. In my area, I would take it.

I've only done a couple, but they were less than 10 pages and super easy - more like resigning a lost mortgage. Guess you have to make sure you know what you're getting into!
