I frequently get Notarial Certificates for POA's that use the language 'On this day personally appeared before me, john doe, to me known to be the individual described...."
I do not know the person at all, but actually only have satisfactory evidence that they are the person described in the document from identification provided, so I don't want to notarize with the language they provide. The language they provide indicates, to me, that I 'know' the person from general dealings.
Curious if others notaries see this as a problem and if so how they handle it.
