 Agree. Still, the tools needed aren't 'free'.

To do this job efficiently and cost-effectively, we need good 'tools'. Tools aren't free. My post is aimed at newbs. The cost of these tools must be taken into account when calculating net profit--like any business. It just seems to me that hiring parties are counting on a newb thinking 'well, I already own this 'tool' (& a whole lot of other 'tools'...that weren't free) anyway, so guess I can do this for $60'.
I just want to stop that kind of thinking and broaden it into what you said. Some 'tools' are cost-effective; others are cost of doing business. (For example, the average person does not just happen to have a fast, dual-tray laser printer.) We shouldn't confuse them.
