That's the information I have found. I guess if the closing is taking place in another state the attorney can do the closing over the phone but a South Carolina notary cannot do that. Although I have found specific information that a notary can do loan modifications, that is it. I have also spoken to a few of the title companies that I do business with and they said the attorney must be present if the closing is taking place in SC. I private messaged someone on this board who implies she does closings in SC but she never responded. |
