I reread page 12 and realize administering the oath and what the Notary certifies when issuing the jurat are two separate things entirely....I stand corrected. My brain combined "certify and oath" into one concept.
But I'm wondering, if you administer the oath up front and the borrowers give an affirmative knowing the doc really is filled with lies, will the borrower sweat in agony during the rest of the signing? OR....if you administer the oath at the end, catching the borrowers off guard and they affirm an affidavit they know to be filled with lies, will the borrower agonize long after the signing?
As Janet said, there's no clear cut answer - and if the affidavit is filled with lies, does it matter whether the borrowers affirm the oath before or after they sign? I doubt any borrower will readily admit that they do NOT swear or affirm that the statements in the doc are true? |
