Oh yeah, I like bank branches too, as there is always someone around who can answer their questions if they have any. I would never ask the borrower if they want me to come to their home. If their address is on the confirmation as the signing location, I just verify the address (occasionally, an incorrect address is on the notary confirmation). I've had borrowers ask me if we can meet at local Starbucks instead, in which case I'll go along as long if it's not out of my way, but I won't give them an opening to ask. They have to initiate the request. I have to laugh about the hoarder house where they mention that their grandchildren had just been there for a visit. I had one of those right after Christmas.
